Well I lost my camera today so my pics will probably be sparse for a while. That’s actually OK because for the next several weeks I’ll be living in a Buddhist monastery in the Emei (beautiful, elegant) mountains.
If you are ever traveling to this region, you can contact Patrick at Emei Guides (www.emeiguides.com). He is a superstar and took great care of me.
Update: I spent almost a month at the monastery, time to move on! Images with a black border were taken by Alan LI 黎紫翔, a very talented photographer I met and traveled with on the mountain.
It’s hard to capture what a cool place this is. These rice paddies carved into the hillsides can be followed for what seems like an eternity through the mountains. We ended up in 2 small villiages, one in Longji and one in Ping’an which were peaceful and great for relaxing. I didn’t end up taking many pictures because there was heavy fog for most of our stay, but these pictures will give you an idea of what it was like.
